Navigating the User Interface

Main Window Components

    • Access various options such as File, Edit, Project, Debugger, Programmer, Tools, Show and Help.
  • Toolbar

    • Quick access to frequently used commands and tools (Home, Code, Build, Flash, Sim, Debug, Design, New, Open, Setups).
  • Project Explorer

    • View and manage project files and directories. Select Code icon in Toolbar to be able to view Project Explorer.
  • Library Manager

    • Helps you manage the libraries used in your project. Select Code icon in Toolbar to be able to view Library Manager.
  • Debugger

    • Provides tools and options for debugging your embedded applications. Select Code icon in Toolbar to be able to view Debugger.
  • Find in Files

    • Allows you to search across all files in your project. Select Code icon in Toolbar to be able to view Find in Files.
  • Package Manager

    • Facilitates the installation and management of software packages and extensions (for Click boardsTM, in most cases). Select Code icon in Toolbar to be able to view Package Manager.
  • Planet Debug

    • Remote debugging service provided by MIKROE. Select Code icon in Toolbar to be able to view Planet Debug.
  • Tools

    • Provides access to various utilities and features in NECTO Studio. Select Code icon in Toolbar to be able to view Tools.
  • AI Q&A

    • Feature in NECTO Studio which leverages AI to assist you with coding and troubleshooting. Select Code icon in Toolbar to be able to view AI Q&A.
  • Plot

    • Real-time data acquisition and analysis (plot data from Click boards™ directly). Select Code icon in Toolbar to be able to view Plot.
  • Code Editor

    • The main area where you write and edit code.
  • Output Console

    • Displays Issues output, Compile output and Application output.
  • Status Bar

    • Displays status information and messages.
  • MCU|Clock

    • Displays microcontroller and clock information currently being used.
  • Setup

    • Hardware setup configuration currently being used.

Customizing the Layout

  • Drag and drop windows to customize the interface layout.

Keyboard Shortcuts

  • Press CTRL + F1 (Windows and Linux OS) or Cmd + F1 (macOS) to familiarize yourself with common keyboard shortcuts to enhance productivity.
